Grinding teeth while sleeping can be a big problem for some and minor for others. Most people don't have a problem and don't even know it is occurring. For others, they wake up with a splitting headache while they slowly erode their teeth away to nothing. That's a big problem. Not only will it cost you thousands in dental work to fix the problem, but it's something you can have a hard time stopping yourself from doing. It happens unconsciously while you sleep and there's really no way you can tell yourself to stop. I'm going to you how to stop grinding teeth while sleeping.
There are basically two theories of thought on why people end up with this problem and both are valid. The first is physical. Physical issue typically happens when your teeth our out of alignment. It can happen after you had some dental work done where the dentist didn't properly fit everything to your bite. This is very rare because dentists are pretty good about fixing this at the office. The other and more probable reason is that it is psychological. This means it is caused by some sort of stress or anxiety in your life. When you're having these sorts of problems, your mind doesn't stop when you sleep and can actually get your mouth to move at that time.
To stop grinding teeth while sleeping, you have to address the psychological issue. If you're having a stressful day, than you need to find some form of stress relief. If you have built up anxiety, than you need to learn to handle it. This is really the only way to get past it without having to stick a mouth guard in your mouth while you sleep.
